WINE & CHEESE INFO SESSIONS

wineandcheeseJanet runs popular informative group sessions in the comfort of your home and allows parents to access expert advice on their children’s behaviour while having fun socially! This is done usually by gathering around 10 friends in the relaxing comfort of a parents home. Providing some wine & cheese for your group turns it into a fun social occasion. $35pp.

Janet facilitates the session with an overview of her general parenting principles and explanation of the main causes of challenging behaviours followed by a Q&A session where parents have plenty of time to ask questions and for their issues to be explored and strategies suggested. Call Janet on 02 9939 3732 to arrange an evening at your house. Janet was a warm and approachable speaker who provided real examples and real solutions to child behaviour management. We found that she maintained the interest of the twenty Parents from our service well, engaging them with strategies to avoid problem situations before they occur. The environment created was non threatening and positive allowing for others to open up about their own needs. We would have no hesitation in recommending Janet... A very successful night!

A year ago I went to Janet’s home with a couple of mothers from my mother’s group. We had the advantage of being able to ask Janet questions about sibling rivalry, potty training, night terrors and most importantly finding better communication skills with our children. Janet provided me with fantastic tools (both practical and caring) which I have been utilising. The tool which I found most useful is how to understand my children’s intense concentration whilst playing. Janet let me know that our children don’t always intend to ignore us but they have just tuned out to the normal nagging voice. She suggested trying a different approach by singing your request to the child. I immediately managed to grab my son’s attention. I was so encouraged by the overall outcome that recently I decided to organise a cheese and wine evening at my younger son’s preschool. The evening was successful with the attendance of thirty seven parents and Janet sharing her profound experience. I received a lot of positive feedback and will always be happy to organise another evening. Full time mother to two beautiful 4 and 6 year old boys Mhairi Jerga

I am a mum from the German International School Sydney and also member of the Cultural Centre of our school. I invited Janet to hold a workshop as part of our Cultural Centre events at the school on the 7 May 2013. Janet did a short presentation about parenting principles and how the brain of young children works. She also gave a lot of helpful and practical tips to deal with specific situations. The audience was very much engaged in this workshop format and kept asking lots of questions. Janet is not only an expert in her field, but also a excellent presenter who kept the audience engaged at all times. She answered all questions in a very professional way and provided the parents with practical advice to take home and implement straigth away. Thank you Janet for making this Cultural Centre event so successful! We all had a great and informative evening at the German International School Sydney.

When I crossed paths with Janet I was looking for some extra advice on a specific matter for my then 7 year old. What I gained was a better understanding of childhood behaviours and this gave me some leverage to parent with flexibility. Janet was kind, caring and no nonsense. Her years of knowledge are what impressed me but more so is her willingness to look outside the square. She is very in tune with children and brought out the best in mine. She never judged me. That was important to me. She also is a parent and grandparent and that speaks volumes as she is so hands on in her family. Win-win on the cred score.

We would definitely recommend meeting with Janet. She has provided several techniques that have made a real difference for us. She had great ideas that immediately worked relating to dropping off our 2.5 years old with the child minder as she was at times quite distressed - to peer social issues at school and appropriate expectations for different ages and stages - helping / tidying up / pocket money /sharing / and sleep routines.... to name a but a few

I met Janet Cater at one of her seminars and have her book. Janet gives great insight and advice on all sorts of issues/challenges. I went with 5 friends of mine with the same age children and am sure we will have her over one evening to do a small group session. Very approachable, fun and experienced lady!
