Banksia Buddies & Banksia Babies: Nature Play & Holiday Programs (0-5yrs)
The Banksia Babies and Banksia Buddies nature play programs at Centennial Park provide babies, toddlers, and preschoolers with opportunities to play and explore outside in nature with natural resources. Both programs adhere to The Australian Government’s Early Years Learning Framework.
BANKSIA BUDDIES
Banksia Buddies is a nature play program for preschoolers (3 – 5 year olds), created and delivered by experts in early childhood science education. Young children are natural scientists and are constantly trying to understand the world around them by actively exploring, discovering and asking questions. This innate curiosity is fostered in each 1 hour session which consists of an engaging presentation involving an interactive story, songs and science demonstration followed by free play with hands-on activities, art and craft related to nature that are delivered in the beautiful setting of Centennial Park.
Session themes change each week.
Date/s: Every Tuesday and Thursday during school holidays.
Age: Children aged 3-5 years with a parent or adult
Meeting point: Look for mats on grass area opposite CP café off Banksia Way (Turpentine Grove).
Times: 10 am – 11 am
Price: $20
NB: Parents and or carers are required to attend the session with their child/children.
BANKSIA BABIES
Parents and mobile babies (9 -20 months of age) are guided through movement songs and finger plays followed by discovery play with a nature treasure basket and sensory tubs. Parents receive safety and hygiene tips for starting their own treasure basket collection. Science and nature themes differ each month.
Dates: Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the second week of each month.
Age: Parents with mobile babies (9 to 20 months)
Meeting point: Look for mats on grass area opposite CP café, off Banksia Way (Turpentine Grove)
Times: Each session runs for 40 minutes. 9:30 am, 10:30 & 11:30am
Price: $20
NB: We limit each session to 10 babies due to resources, however, extra adults are welcome to join.

Such a great and different concept for young children. I took my two Nephews, and they absolutely LOVED it! Some great stories, songs, and science play to keep them entertained. Thank you Banksia Buddies.

Although it's recommended for 3-5 year olds, I took my 2 year old niece to the geode smashing day. She had an absolute blast and so did I. Props to the team, especially Cordelia for their professionalism and happy vibes!. I'll definitely come back again!
