Kids’ love of ice cream knows no bounds! Summer or winter, rain or shine, celebration or commiseration – an ice cream cone or scoop of smooth gelato is always a winner! Here are some of our favourite spots to indulge in the smoothest, creamiest, tastiest ice cream and gelato in Sydney:

EAST

Gelato Messina (Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, Bondi, Parramatta, Miranda and The Star Casino): There is a reason why there are queues out the door for Gelato Messina’s amazing ice cream. Give the kids a treat and let them try an exotic scoop of the ice cream, voted Australia’s Best.

Pompeii (Bondi): The gelato at this excellent Italian restaurant is amazing! Be aware, the ice cream here is displayed under traditional silver domes so you can’t see before you buy.

CITY

N2 Extreme Gelato (Chinatown): Make sure you visit this ‘crazy chemist meets gelato bar’ in the city. Expect amazing flavours and liquid nitrogen theatrics!

Aqua S (City, Chatswood, Macquarie Park): The one you've probably seen on Instagram with the OTT fairy floss cone! So many interesting flavours including Earl Grey Milk Tea is back and the new popcorn flavour!

INNER WEST

Cow and Moon Gelato and Dessert Bar (Enmore) Amazing gelato here - voted best in the world in 2014, though best for a takeaway scoop (or 2!). By the way, mums and dads- they also serve great coffee!

Pure Gelato (Croyden Park): Fantastic ice cream and great gelato cakes –  reasonably priced, and they deliver!

Pagoto Gelato & Waffle House: Ever wanted to try a watermelon and feta gelato? Now you can at this Greek hot spot in Marrickville!

NORTH

Gelatiamo (Lindfield): Fresh flavours, friendly service and this gelato is made on site.

NORTHWEST

Windsor Ice Cream Cafe: A fabulous old fashioned ice cream parlour that also serves up excellent pancakes and milkshakes.

SUTHERLAND SHIRE

Frangipani Gelato (Cronulla): Roomy gelato bar with great service and lovely tea selection.

WEST

Art of Gelato (Fairfield): This factory outlet does sell by the scoop but mainly does a great trade in takeaway packs at great prices.

What The Fudge (Cabramatta): You might know it for their famous Deep Fried Golden Gaytime, but they have so much more to offer your tastebuds including Nutella shakes, waffle towers and deep fried pandan cake.

How can you leave out the very best gelato in Sydney ? Gelatissimo in Darling Harbour , Coogee and Bondi and many more locations still produces the most authentic tastiest gelato in Australia. Bambinos for little ones - perfect?
