Auburn Botanic Gardens

Only 20 minutes drive from the CBD, The Auburn Botanical Gardens is tucked away in Sydney’s Western suburbs made up of 9 different parks and full of natural beauty.

The main attraction is the spectacular Japanese Garden, with a waterfall, decorative bridges and ornamental trees set around a large lake.  It is exceptionally beautiful, especially when the cherry blossoms are blooming between mid-August and early September.

There are many animals in the Reserve, including Swamp Wallabies, Red Necked Wallabies, Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Emus, Rufous Bettong and the Common Wombat and the beautiful Aviary is home to peacocks, swans and other native birds that wander around this area freely. Visit the garden on weekends at 10.00am and 2.00pm, you can watch the Fauna Keeper feed the animals.

Facilities: There are BBQs, a children’s playground, toilets and the park is totally accessible with a pram or wheelchair.
