Workshops & Classes

Rockstar: Rocking it out on the microphones, grooving away to top hits, playing fun games and putting on crazy costumes..this is Make me a ROCKSTAR’s most popular workshop which all the children love. They get an opportunity to perform for a live audience at the end & performing in front of each other builds their confidence throughout the day.

Your Unique Voice: Music therapy & reflection, creating something together as a group as well as working individually on songs written by the children. This workshop is a lot more of a quieter creative space than our usual crazy workshops, children getting to build their own forts & relax in the space. Children have the opportunity to work one on one with Lauren & get feedback from her & others.

Rockstar Recording: Children experience a live studio environment, learning about vocal technique from Lauren (also known as Jessie J impersonator in the inner circle) & all about the recording process from lecturer & professional sound engineer Mark Parris. This workshop is not for the faint hearted, and is better for kids at an intermediate level aged 7 & above.

Musical theatre: Drama, improvisation, games, vocal technique, dancing, stage presence, staging, children learn all about vocal & microphone technique, gaining confidence performing for each other & then together as a group for the parents at the end. This workshop is for all the shy & bold kids out there who love acting.

Music & Media: As well as getting dressed up in crazy costumes & Rocking it out on our “Live stage” under the lights of their own video clip (Youtube video can be found here for last years & here for this year) children learn all about the editing process from Lachie, our videographer & editor & gain confidence performing in front of the camera. Dancing, drama & lots of fun games, this workshop is an incredible & unique experience for all children who love being the star of the show, or being behind a camera.

Rockstars Got Talent: Children perform & reveal their many talents in front of a panel of highly trained professional vocal teachers/dancers/performers/songwriters & get critiqued on their work. Children are encouraged & challenged in their gift & learn confidence performing in front of each other.

Creativity: Have a child who needs a confidence boost or prefers to shy away from the stage? With stations going with different activities, this workshop is great for children who may get bored easily, or prefers not to be the centre of attention. There are a range of different games & activities going at the one time such as art & craft & beads to cater for all personality types & hobbies.

Singing & songwriting: Do they have a passion to write & would love to record their own song one day? Lauren teaches the foundations of a chart-topping song, as well as vocal & microphone technique, writing skills & more. Write together as a group or individually on their own with feedback & encouragement.

Superhero: Wonder woman, Batman, capes, superheroes.. come as your favourite Superhero as we save the planet from our masked enemies. Games & activities for all ages.

Instrumental: Does your child have a passion for learning a different instrument? Would they like to learn how to play piano, guitar or drums? Learn from some of the Shire’s best music teachers as they teach you the basics of a new instrument, & a chance to perform it at the end. Fun musical activities & games, while learning music theory & having a go.
