Welcome to Centennial Park❜s new Fearnley Grounds

Oh how we LOVE Centennial Park here at ellaslist. Whatever time of the year, whatever the occasion, it always tempts us with its lush green spaces, duck ponds, shady picnic spots, great playgrounds and numerous bike & walking trails. It makes a fantastic family day out at the weekend, a mid-week coffee & playground destination with your little ones or a spontaneous after-school play & picnic dinner spot.

So, we are very excited about the newest addition to the Parklands. Months in the planning and construction, Fearnley Grounds is now open! Located in the south-west corner adjacent to the Children’s Learners Cycleway, this area has been designed with families in mind and covers off everything parents are looking for from a park including a fabulous new cafe, bike hire centre, covered picnic shelter, playground, children’s cycle track, gas BBQs, toilets and easy parking.

The area is named after Kurt Fearnley OAM, a Paralympic gold medallist, whose life, ambitions and the inspiration he provides embodies the Ground’s philosophy of ’cycling, accessibility, families and outdoor experiences.

Delicious Food

The Greenhouse Cafe is a fast favourite at Fearnley Grounds, featuring a Middle Eastern inspired menu for breakfast, lunch and yummy snacks. It stocks quality Campos coffee, Sonoma baked treats and sweet gelato 7 days a week.

Rider’s Paradise

The Parklands’ bike hire business, Centennial Park Cycles have relocated to Fearnley Grounds to equip and assist everyone from the beginner rider to the advanced cycler. As well as a fantastic range of adults’ and kids’ bikes for rent, they hire tag-a-long bikes, child carriers and the fun 4 or 6 seater pedal cars for the whole family to enjoy exploring the park.

Circling the playground, BBQ areas and meandering through large shaded trees, the Children’s Learner Cycleway is the perfect safe space for kids to learn to ride. Both the playground and cycleway are in line for an upgrade this year, to make them even more fabulous!
