Arachnophobes need not apply, but if you're not worried about the furry eight-legged creatures of dark places, you can join park rangers ino looking for arachnids in this fun-filled morning of games, exploring and craft. Tesselaar Tulip Festival

You will be amazed at the million (yes, million) tuilips on display across 25 acres of farmland at the 64th Tesselaar Tulip Festival this September.

There will be more than 130 varieties to see against the backdrop of the stunning Dandenong Ranges, in addition to live entertainment, market stalls and tempting foods on offer every day.

Dance Party Storytime at East Melbourne Library

Get your dancing gear on for a morning of moving and grooving amongs the books. Best for 2-5 year olds.

MPavilion

An amazing art and design event, every year the Naomi Milgrom Foundation commissions an outstanding architect to design a temporary pavilion for the Queen Victoria Gardens, in the centre of Melbourne’s Southbank Arts Precinct. 

Creative collaborators from across the globe are brought together for a four-month-long program of talks, workshops, performances and installations, and more, from October to February - and it's free.

Last year the MKids family-friendly events and workshops included afternoon music performances and multicultural activities, (including a a week-long interactive installation with Polygot Theatre that experimented with the relationship between sound and drawing) from an array of local Melbourne artists, designers and creatives. Check out the program for this year's line up when it becomes available.

Little Day Out Children's Festival

Now in its fifth year the annual City of Greater Dandenong Children’s Festival is celebrating an Animal Kingdom theme.

Families are invited to let their imaginations run wild over the school holidays, with a series of free and low cost events like exciting and interactive programs, activities, performances, workshops, exhibitions and events for the whole family happening across the city.
