Sydney❜s Best Pram-Friendly Cafes

  • All Ages

Cramped cafes where you can just sense the eye rolls from staff when you try to wheel your pram through the narrow doorway are the worst. Not only do you have to stress about the potential meltdown your little one could have halfway through your cappuccino, but you're constantly feeling in-the-way, and out-of-place when all you wanted was a quiet place to grab a quick bite.

Here are our top picks for family-friendly, spacious cafes where you, your bub, and your pram are always welcome.

1. Queens Park Shed, Queen's Park

We just adore the Queens Park Shed. This playground-adjacent family haven has large, open green spaces literally on its doorstep, outdoor and indoor spacious dining areas, and a delicious menu. On weekends, it is utterly bursting with families, so you'll never feel out of place with your pram. Read our review here.

2. Grandma's at McEvoy, Alexandria

Delicious, nutritious home-style cooking and an extremely family-friendly vibe where kids are welcomed like royalty. There's plenty of space, a children's play area, and an awesome kid's menu that doesn't undermine kid's tastes. Read our review of our delicious experience at Grandma's here.

3. Flying Fox Cafe, Mona Vale

Conveniently located next to the beloved flying fox playground, the Flying Fox Cafe is a local favourite. Mums will love the outdoor seating area with views over Winnererremy Bay. It has a casual, friendly atmosphere, kid's menu, and of course, no pram will feel out of place. Read our review of the cafe here.

4. Bitton Oatley Cafe, Oatley

Another spacious, family-friendly pram destination. The front part is more of a restaurant setting, but make your way out the back and you'll find a spacious garden with large tables, and synthetic grass. Kids can run around and play in the cubby house whilst you relax with the knowledge that they are not getting underfoot, and neither is your pram. Read our review here.

5. The Groundskeeper Cafe, Ryde

In the centre of Ryde Park, you'd almost miss this little gem if you didn't know it was there. It's an extremely open, spacious cafe with a hint of rustic charm, near an awesome playground, with a delicious menu containing Middle-eastern inspired dishes and homemade cakes. We took SIX kids for lunch at the Groundskeeper recently- read about our successful trip here.

6. Little Rock Cafe, Baulkham Hills

This one is again, super kid-friendly with highchairs, room for prams, and an awesome shaded outdoor play area called My Funland, which was created in collaboration with the Touched By Olivia Foundation- so it's accessible for children of all ages and abilities. Menu treats include pulled pork burgers, iced caramels, Fanta spiders and delectable Babycinos.
