Taking the family out for a weekend meal can be a costly, not to mention full of frustration as you scour the internet trying to find kid-restaurants. Now Darling Harbour is taking all the hassle out of having a happy meal with your loved ones during ‘Kids Go Free’ month. With more than 40 special offers every weekend in November, at a variety of Darling Harbour waterfront food outlets, you can easily have a blast without blowing your budget.

1. Ice Cream, You Scream


If ice cream is your treat of choice, there’s a range of options to choose from for a free scoop. You can’t go past Bar Gelato Café, Thai Foon and Zaaffran Indian’s offer of a free ice cream for kids under 13. Yoforia is also offering free frozen yoghurt up to the value of $5. If you’re looking to purchase a regular ice cream, pop into Andersen’s of Denmark where you’ll receive a free kids scoop too. Gelatissimo will deliver a free kids cone with a smile when you buy another 2 or 3 flavour cup or cone. And for a ‘buy one, get the second one half price’ deal head on over to Meno DiciottoCrinti’s, Hard Rock Cafe, Hurricane’s Grill and Adria Bar Restaurant are giving away a complimentary ice-cream scoop with every kid’s meal. Lindt Café has the same offer when you order any item off their menu.

2. Pizza Please


For taste buds that trend toward Italian, the kids will enjoy a free half pizza when you order any adult steak at Espress Grill. But for a more sweet style pizza, hop on over to Enfes Kebabs to claim your complimentary mini Nutella pizza for kids under 13 years.

 

3. Meal Deals


A delightfully delicious and diverse range of restaurants are catering for kids with meal deals aplenty! Georgie’s Spuds & Snags will send you salivating with their offer of a free kids meals with any purchase of two meals to the minimum value of $10.90 each. Up to two children can enjoy a complimentary kids meal at Vesta Italian in Darling Quarter, with the additional offer of 50% off any other item on the kids’ menu. But just before you leave Darling Quarter, be sure to check out Taste Baguette who will be serving free kids’ tempura chicken and chips, with each additional child’s meal at half price. Umi Sushi + Udon are offering 50% off kid’s bento boxes when accompanied by a paying adult. You can also try out Kazbah, The Watershed Hotel or Yots Café, where kids receive a FREE meal with every main meal ordered. If you’re visiting SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, try out Wharf Kitchen and pay just $20 for a family meal deal, which includes 2 Aussie burgers, 2 cheeseburgers and 4 small fries or drinks.

4. Decadent Desserts


If your sweet tooth is calling for something tasty, hop over to Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café to receive a free box of Guylian’s famous milky treats for kids under 13. But if you’re after something a little less conventional, kids can get free churros with melted chocolate at San Churro Chocolateria. You can also purchase a hot dog from Danieli Café to receive a complimentary paddle pop.

 

5. Thirst quenchers


When you’re just looking for something to satisfy your thirst, Boost Juice is a great option. When you purchase an original size juice, you’ll receive a kids’ one free. If the fizzy variety of drinks is your children’s favourite choice, they’ll be delighted with Blackbird Café’s offer of unlimited soft drinks when you order from the kids’ menu. For something a little bit more decadent, Bar Gelato Café are offering free milkshakes and hot chocolates for kids. Getting there:
Public transport is definitely the more adventurous way to get to and from Darling Harbour, with train, bus and ferry options available. Best of all, opal card holders can travel all day on Sundays for no more than $2.50. If you prefer to drive, ‘Kids Go Free’ parking discounts will be available at the Kent Street, Darling Park, Darling Quarter, Citi Park and Harbourside car parks for the month of November.
