Just when you thought you’d run out of ways to entertain your children, Darling Harbour has the answer, with a range of thrilling attractions for kids of all ages. And it’s never been more affordable than now for the most exhilarating experiences thanks to Darling Harbour’s Kids Go Free in November event.

We’ve selected six of the best adrenaline packed adventures to keep the whole family energised.

1. Firework Frenzy

You don’t have to wait for major occasions like New Year’s Eve to see a light extravaganza in Sydney. Just head down to Darling Harbour for a spectacular fireworks display every Saturday night at 9pm. And while you’re out and about, why not make a night of it with a family meal, or even treat yourself to a waterside dessert. You can grab a spot on the steps, at a restaurant or really anywhere to catch a view of the night sky colourfully lit up and accompanied by a custom made music track. You won’t be able to resist bouncing in your seats – and best of all, it’s absolutely FREE!

2. Virtual Adventure

How about an adventure through a range of exotic landscapes and weather conditions all from the comfort of your seat? 9D Action Cinemas will stimulate your senses like nothing else using 3D vision, surround sound, active motion seats and dramatic effects, including rain, fog, lightning, wind and snow. The realistic ride lasts for between 8 to 10 minutes, but you’ll be talking about the thrill for hours afterwards.

Kids under 13 can get their fill of adrenaline packed adventure absolutely FREE when accompanied by an adult.

3. Lose Yourself In Laser

There’s nothing more adrenaline inducing than a game of laser tag at M9 Laser Skirmish. Get your hearts pumping with an exhilarating battle, laser against laser, as you hide amongst the indoor maze of camouflaged props. Even a little courage will go a long way when you embark on a mission to target your opponents and score points for every successful hit.

You’ll undoubtedly leave on an emotional high with your wallet still full, because kids under 13 play for free.

4. Cinematic Sensation

You haven’t been to the cinema till you’ve been to LG IMAX Theatre. With an enormous screen more than ten times larger than a traditional one, you’ll be immersed in the action in no time. There’s a range of larger-than-life 3D films to choose from. So whether it’s about sea life, creepy crawlies or the wonders of the universe, you’ll definitely find something that will appeal to everyone.

Kids under 16 can watch for free when accompanied by a paying adult at 10am or 11am movie sessions every weekend till the 13th December.

5. Adrenaline On The Water

The most thrilling way to see the harbour is on a 35 minute Sydney Jet ride. As part of ‘Kids Go Free’ month, those under 16 can jump on-board for free. So now there’s no excuse not to grab a life jacket and get set to speed. You’ll soon feel very far from the calm waters of Darling Harbour as you experience the distinctive thrill of the boat’s spins and stunts, all amongst the beautiful sights of the historic harbour. You can book ahead of time or look for their bright yellow boats dockside to reserve your spots.

6. Thrilling sights

For a slightly more relaxed take on action-packed adventure, grab a seat on the Star of the Show Ferris Wheel. This ride is fun for the whole family, with the opportunity to view the bustling atmosphere from above. It will give you a chance to catch your breath and calm your heart after all those thrilling activities. Sit back and enjoy the best view in town. Kids under 13 ride free between 10am and 12pm every November weekend.
