Best Food To Try During Vivid 2017

The perfect accompaniment to the spectacular 2017 Vivid lights display is no doubt some delicious, created-especially-for-the-festival dishes. Here are some of our top picks for this year's festival:

1. The Kerrigan, Vivid Burgers

The Kerrigan at Pier One has created some super colourful burgers on shimmering buns. They're so fabulous that The Daily Telegraph even made a video about them!

2. Lotus, Moon Ice Cream

Back for the 2017 festival due to its huge popularity in 2016! It's passionfruit ice cream dipped in white chocolate and coconut, finished with some rainbow colouring. It's pretty easy on the eye, too.

Catch it at Lotus, Barangaroo.

3. Black Star Pastry, Glownuts

At their pop up in the neon-inspired Martin Place set-up, you'll find Glownuts, which are glow in the dark donuts! Black Star Pastry can always be relied upon to create something incredible, famous for their watermelon cake, which is the most Instagrammed cake in the world! 

4. China Lane, Electric Laneway Dessert

This dessert has a touching sentiment behind it. About lights in general, China Lane's head chef Kristian Vale told The Daily Telegraph: “We’re surrounded by light with our phones, iPads and computers, but never really get to experience it." This dessert has been designed to be shared, which will hopefully bring families and friends together, around a plate. According to The Daily Telegraph, it is an interpretation of an Asian jelly salad with ginger crumble, lychees and spiced blueberries.

5. Devon Cafe, Purple Haze Sundae

Head chef Morris Baco of Barangaroo's Devon Cafe has created this Filipino-inspired, psychedelic dessert for the festival. It is made from purple yam soft serve, coconut strips, taro chips, and flan, according to The Daily Telegraph. 

6. The Bar- Park Hyatt, Apple Of Our Eye Cocktail

Inspired by the Sydney Opera House, the blue represents the harbour water and the sliced apples represent the sails according to The Daily Telegraph. Incredible! James Tickner, one of the brains behind Park Hyatt's The Bar created this adults-only gem, which can be yours to enjoy for just $18 with one of the best views of the festival.
